Degeto Weltspiegel were shorts that played in German cinemas from 1939–1943, there were a total of 50 reels. They were produced bij Tobis on 35 mm film bij special units within the Fermany Army Degeto Weltspiegel was produced on 16mm for (primarily ?) home "entertainment" in 16mm; prints were sold at 15 Reichsmark a print. They were not for loan. The regular length was of 25 m. Degeto-Weltspiegel was announced in the Degeto-Catalogue of 16mm films, autumn 1939 ("Schmalfilme der Degeto. Verzeichnis Herbst 1939) like this: "The Degeto-Weltspiegel collects the most interesting scenes from different newsreels and other pictures und combines them to a higher form of actuality." ("höhere Form der Aktualität") - it means that the Degeto-Weltspiegel was of course not an actual newsreel. As Degeto-Weltspiegel-Series passed German censorship, they were allowed to be shown in publics. Degeto-Weltspiegel startet with a "Nr. 1" in Mai 1939; the last edition is Degeto-Weltspiegel Nr. 50, that passed the German Censorship on 9. 2. 1944. "Degeto-Weltspiegel Nr. 41 - Dieppe - 19. August 1942" was censored also on 9. 2. 1944.
